I am not a born artist, I became one through a singular process. Above all, I cared to understand and question the world and its ills, and to find the words to undo them. I traveled widely and embarked on a career as a sociologist. But words sometimes frustrate me; they don't communicate everything or everyone. And my need to create beautiful and critical things, to touch and reshape the earth, and to show my concerns, made me an artist.
Creating is a crucial act for me, to break with the expectations of a square life and to free ourselves from toxic norms.
I define myself as a critical artist, but I am also obsessed with volume and geometry. When I am not expressing my social and feminist concerns in my work, whether through words, drawings or clay, I escape with the lathe or create geometric or abstract pieces.
