Madeleine Oosterbaan makes ceramics primarily in porcelain clay. Her sculptures have a very personal style of their own. She studied art in Paris, her hometown at the time, where she laid the building blocks for her own way of working, inspired by architecture and the built environment.
I create a world that makes me happy, I want to create an object that I myself love to let my gaze get lost in endlessly, from realistic to abstract.
She creates a universe that you can wander through in your mind, walk through and get lost in, as it were. They are dream worlds where lines seamlessly merge into quirky constructions.
A serene little stacked world in porcelain or ceramics.
