Fascinated by landscapes, fantasy figures and colors, Monique Wijnschenk has been searching for ways to capture her imaginative ideas since childhood. That path gave her an enormous wealth of knowledge about materials with which she can shape her ideas in almost any way she wants today. Nowadays it is mainly the creating itself that Monique is interested in.

Leaving in a beautiful story and discovering things as they pass by. Where she eventually arrives and how she reaches her destination is increasingly of secondary importance to her.

Therefore, I usually let the choice depend on what I feel like doing in the moment.

'I can just as easily render a landscape realistically with a pencil, pen ink and watercolor as completely abstract in acrylic paint or alcohol ink. I therefore usually let the choice depend on what I feel like doing in the moment. For me, that is what being an artist is all about. About doing what I feel like doing and what makes me happy. About allowing a bubbling idea to take shape and giving it form. About following my own passion and pleasure in a world in which we often take ourselves too seriously.
