For me, painting is where landscape and spirituality meet, because I use the surfaces and materials of painting to explore inner and outer spaces. Nature as outer space then enters into a fruitful dialogue with the inner experience of my inner space, which finds expression as a complex field of tension in the painted image. The canvas becomes a mirror of that interplay.
At the moment I am interested in the Andalusian daylight, which I explore by painting en plein air.
Stays abroad have always been a source of inspiration for this. At the moment I am interested in the Andalusian daylight, which I explore by painting en plein air. In 2006 I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe under Prof. Gross. Until 2020 I worked in Heidelberg (Germany) as an art teacher at a Gymnasium and as a lecturer at the Pädagogische Hochschule; I had various regional solo and group exhibitions and was involved in artists’ associations. Since 2016, fourteen canvases have been on view in Heidelberg town hall.
I currently work as an art teacher at the Deutsche Schule in Málaga and keep my studio at the ‘Espacio Phi’, also in Málaga.
