Privacy policy
Casa Adnew is a home for art. To rent out and sell work, and to let you try it in your own home, we process personal data. This policy explains which data that is, why we need it, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

What we process and why
If you use the contact form or email us
We process your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message, so that we can answer your question and, if you ask for one, arrange an appointment.
Legal basis: performance of a contract or steps taken before entering into one, or our legitimate interest in being able to answer a question.
Retention: up to two years after our last contact, unless a rental or purchase agreement follows from it.
If you subscribe to the newsletter
We process your name and email address to tell you about exhibitions, new artists and work from the collection.
Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time through the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter, or by emailing us. It is free of charge and has no effect on the rest of our relationship.
Retention: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only the record of your unsubscription, so that you are not contacted again.
If you rent, buy or try out artwork at home
We process your name, address, email address, phone number, bank details and the details set out in the contract, such as the work, the term, the monthly rent and the credit you have built up. If we deliver to your home, we also process the delivery address.
Legal basis: performance of the contract, and for our bookkeeping a legal obligation.
Retention: invoices and the related administration are kept for seven years, as Dutch tax law requires. Contract data that does not fall under that obligation is deleted within two years of the end of the agreement.
If you are an artist working with us
We process your name, contact details, portrait and biography, images of your work, and the agreements on rental, sale and payment. We publish your name, photograph and work on this website, because that is the point of the collaboration.
Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
Retention: for as long as the collaboration lasts. After that we remove your page from the website within a reasonable period of your request, and keep only what we are required to keep.
If you visit our website
Our hosting provider records visits in log files containing, among other things, your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type. This is done to keep the site running, to trace faults and to prevent abuse.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working and secure website.
Retention: log files are kept for a short period and then deleted automatically.
The home page contains videos loaded through YouTube. As soon as you play one, YouTube (Google) may process data about you. Google's own privacy policy applies to that.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for purposes other than those described above.
For part of our work we rely on service providers who process data on our behalf. These are the companies that make our website and email technically possible, the software we use to send the newsletter, the firm that keeps our books, and, when a work has to be delivered or collected, the carrier. They may use the data only for the task we give them and not for their own purposes. This is set out in the data processing agreements we have with them.
Beyond that, we share data only where the law obliges us to.
Casa Adnew works from the Netherlands and Spain. Both countries are within the European Economic Area, so exchanging data between our two locations is not a transfer outside the EEA. Where one of our providers processes data outside the EEA, it does so under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
Cookies
Our website uses functional cookies that are necessary for the site to work; these do not require consent. For cookies that do require it, such as those set by embedded YouTube videos, we ask for your consent.
Security
We take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access. The website is secured with a TLS certificate, access to our systems is protected by passwords and two-step verification, and only those who need the data can reach it. If you notice anything that looks wrong, please tell us at info@adnew.nl.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- find out what data we hold about you;
- have that data corrected if it is wrong;
- have your data erased;
- have the processing restricted;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- receive your data in a common file format, or have it transferred;
- withdraw your consent, where we rely on it.
Send your request to info@adnew.nl. We respond within one month. To avoid handing data to the wrong person, we may ask you to identify yourself.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, we would like to hear it from you first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), in Spain the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
Changes
We update this policy when the way we work changes. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
